Match #30 | The Hundred 2026 | Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester | Tuesday, 11 August 2026
Jos Buttler and Heinrich Klaasen are the two players who can get Manchester Super Giants over the line. Buttler is averaging 112 since replacing Markram as captain, and his stand with Klaasen produced 105 runs the last time these sides met. Mitchell Marsh remains the biggest threat in white, sitting top of the season’s run charts with 23 sixes. MSG’s middle order lost real depth when Markram left the tournament, handing Michael Bracewell an unfamiliar role at Old Trafford this week.
Jos Buttler has carried this batting order almost alone. He broke Kieron Pollard’s all-time T20 runs record during a 51 not out against Welsh Fire, then inherited the captaincy five days later. Since then he has scored 226 runs from five innings at an average of 112, the best return in the squad this season. His stand of 105 with Heinrich Klaasen in Match 10 shows exactly how thin the order gets once he goes. Klaasen’s own form this season, a 50 against Birmingham Phoenix among it, proves the middle order can still fire when Buttler isn’t left doing it alone.
Mitchell Marsh tops the season’s run charts with 23 sixes, nine clear of Buttler, and his 63 off 26 balls won him player of the match the last time these sides met. He and Ryan Rickelton then set a new partnership record of 131 against London Spirit. Harry Brook adds the finishing touch, his six sixes in 17 balls at Headingley proving he can end an innings fast whenever Sunrisers Leeds need it. Zak Crawley’s calm start at the top, averaging 34.50 this season, hands both hitters the platform to accelerate late.
MSG lean on Buttler and Klaasen, both scoring well above the tournament average, after Aiden Markram’s exit removed a batter with 117 runs this season. Michael Bracewell steps into that gap without a single Hundred ball faced. Sunrisers counter through Marsh, Brook and Crawley, a top order that chased 182 in July, while Noor Ahmad went wicketless for 37 and Abrar Ahmed didn’t bowl at all that day.
| Player | Team | Recent Form (Hundred 2026) | Key Stat |
| Jos Buttler | Manchester Super Giants | 63(33) vs SRL, 90(50) vs BP, 51*(20) vs WF | 226 runs, avg 112; now captain |
| Heinrich Klaasen | Manchester Super Giants | 53(27) vs SRL, 50(25) vs BP | 105-run stand with Buttler, Match 10 |
| Aiden Markram | Manchester Super Giants | 32(23) vs SRL; left tournament Aug 5 | 117 runs in 5 matches; unavailable |
| Mitchell Marsh | Sunrisers Leeds | 63(26) vs MSG, 76(37) vs LS | Top run scorer 2026; 23 sixes |
| Zak Crawley | Sunrisers Leeds | 56*(34) vs MSG | Average 34.50; SRL captain |
| Harry Brook | Sunrisers Leeds | 42*(17) vs MSG, 55(18) vs LS | Six sixes in 17 balls vs MSG |
| Noor Ahmad | Manchester Super Giants | 0/37 vs SRL, Match 10 | Wicketless last time out |
| Abrar Ahmed | Sunrisers Leeds | Did not bowl vs MSG | 52 T20I wickets, economy 6.67 |
Noor Ahmad has just one wicket from two matches, his last outing against Sunrisers Leeds costing 37 runs without success, though 24 wickets in IPL 2025 explain why MSG paid £175,000 for him. Abrar Ahmed didn’t bowl a single over against MSG in July, but two wickets against Southern Brave and one against Birmingham Phoenix show he strikes when trusted with the ball. His T20I economy of 6.67 hints Sunrisers Leeds may lean on him harder this time. Neither spinner has bowled a full spell at Old Trafford under these exact conditions this season.
Aiden Markram’s exit on August 5 wasn’t about form, and MSG’s camp had little warning before it happened. He’d made 32 off 23 in the last meeting with Sunrisers Leeds and 50 off 26 in his final Hundred innings, numbers that read like a player leaving on his own terms rather than being dropped. Personal reasons took him home to South Africa, and Michael Bracewell now fills a middle order slot he hasn’t occupied in this tournament before. That gap is exactly why Manchester vs Leeds The Hundred 2026 key players comes down to Buttler and Klaasen doing more than usual on Tuesday.
