Rotterdam Dockers will look to continue their winning momentum when they take on Edinburgh Castle Rockers in Match 14 of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) 2026 at Sportpark Duivesteijn, Voorburg, on September 5. Faf du Plessis was the standout performer in the win over Dublin, scoring 79 off 51 balls, while Michael Levitt provided a rapid start with 35 off just 14 deliveries. Heinrich Klaasen then finished the chase with an unbeaten 34.
With the combination functioning well, Rotterdam are unlikely to make wholesale changes against the Castle Rockers. Here is their predicted playing XI for Match 14.
Michael Levitt is expected to continue opening the innings alongside captain Faf du Plessis.
Levitt has been given the licence to attack from the outset and demonstrated his credentials against Dublin, smashing 35 off 14 balls at a strike rate of 250. His ability to take on the new ball gives Rotterdam a significant advantage during the Powerplay.
At the other end, du Plessis brings experience and stability. The former South Africa captain produced another masterclass against Dublin, scoring 79 off 51 deliveries with nine fours and a six. He was also named Player of the Match.
The opening pair has therefore developed into one of Rotterdam’s biggest strengths.
Ben McDermott should continue at No. 3, with Heinrich Klaasen expected to follow him.
McDermott provides another aggressive batting option and has already shown his ability to finish innings strongly. He also offers wicketkeeping cover, although Klaasen is likely to retain the gloves.
Klaasen played an important role in Rotterdam’s latest chase. After du Plessis had established the platform, the South African wicketkeeper-batter scored an unbeaten 34 off 28 balls and helped take his team over the line.
Against an Edinburgh attack featuring Trent Boult and Mitchell Santner, Klaasen’s ability to counter both pace and spin could prove invaluable.
Vikramjit Singh is likely to retain his place after contributing 18 runs against Dublin.
The Netherlands international adds flexibility to the batting order and can rotate the strike before accelerating when required. His ability to contribute in the field is another advantage.
Ben Manenti should occupy the next position. The Italian all-rounder provides Rotterdam with a useful spin-bowling option while also adding depth to the batting lineup.
With Edinburgh possessing several left-handers, Manenti’s off-spin could also become an important tactical weapon.
David Wiese is expected to retain his place as Rotterdam’s premier seam-bowling all-rounder.
The Namibia international is capable of providing crucial runs in the lower middle order while bowling useful overs across different phases. He was particularly impressive against Dublin, claiming three wickets for 29 runs.
Saqib Zulfiqar should continue as another spin-bowling all-rounder. His presence gives captain du Plessis an additional option if the surface begins assisting slower bowlers.
Veteran Roelof van der Merwe completes the all-rounder group. The Netherlands star brings enormous T20 experience and remains a difficult bowler to attack in the middle overs. He claimed two wickets for 24 runs in Rotterdam’s latest victory.
Anrich Nortje should lead Rotterdam’s pace attack.
The South African speedster has been one of the standout bowlers in the ETPL so far. He produced a three-wicket haul against Dublin, finishing with excellent figures of 3/20 from four overs.
Nortje’s raw pace will be particularly useful against Edinburgh’s aggressive top order, which includes Ross Adair and Andries Gous.
Jai Moondra is likely to complete the XI. The Irish all-rounder has been part of Rotterdam’s recent combination and offers another pace option.
