Match 68 of the Indian Premier League 2026 will see Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium, Lucknow, on May 23.

Lucknow Super Giants have endured a disappointing IPL 2026 campaign and spent most of the season near the bottom of the points table. However, the Rishabh Pant-led side has shown signs of improvement in recent games, winning two of their last three matches, including impressive victories against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings.

Punjab Kings, meanwhile, find themselves in a must-win situation heading into this contest. After starting the season with seven consecutive victories, PBKS have suffered a dramatic dip in form with six straight defeats. Shreyas Iyer’s side will now be desperate to revive their playoff hopes with a crucial win in Lucknow.

Predicted Playing XI

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Top-order: Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran

Mitchell Marsh has been the standout batter for LSG this season. The Australian all-rounder has amassed 563 runs and currently sits fourth in the Orange Cap race. Marsh’s aggressive approach at the top has been one of the few positives for Lucknow in an otherwise difficult campaign.

Josh Inglis has also transformed LSG’s batting lineup since joining the playing XI. The explosive Australian wicketkeeper-batter has already smashed multiple quickfire half-centuries and has added tremendous momentum in the powerplay overs.

Nicholas Pooran will slot in at number three and will look to finish his campaign strongly. The West Indian batter remains one of the most dangerous middle-order players in T20 cricket and can change the game within a matter of overs.

Middle-order: Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (capt & wk), Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed

Ayush Badoni is expected to bat at number four. After showing promising form early in the season, the youngster endured a dip in consistency and was briefly dropped from the XI. He now has another opportunity to make an impact.

Captain Rishabh Pant has struggled to produce his best cricket this season, especially with the bat. The left-hander has scored only 286 runs in 12 innings and will be eager to deliver a strong performance in front of the home crowd.

Abdul Samad provides the finishing firepower in the lower middle order, while Shahbaz Ahmed offers balance with his all-round abilities.

Bowlers: Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, Akash Singh, Prince Yadav

Mohsin Khan remains a key new-ball option for Lucknow thanks to his ability to swing the ball early in the innings. The left-arm pacer has picked up 11 wickets so far this season.

Mayank Yadav continues to regain rhythm after returning from injury, while Akash Singh impressed in the previous match against Chennai Super Kings with a three-wicket haul.

Prince Yadav has been LSG’s standout bowler in IPL 2026 and will once again be crucial in this encounter.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Predicted XI:

Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant (capt & wk), Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav, Akash Singh, Prince Yadav

Impact Player: Digvesh Rathi

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Top-order: Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Cooper Connolly

Punjab Kings possess one of the most explosive top orders in IPL 2026. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh have formed a destructive opening pair, both striking at over 211 this season.

Prabhsimran has been in sensational touch throughout the campaign and continues to provide rapid starts during the powerplay. Priyansh Arya, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the breakout stars of the tournament with his fearless batting approach.

Australian youngster Cooper Connolly has also impressed since joining the side and adds further aggression to the top order.

Middle-order: Shreyas Iyer (capt), Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Azmatullah Omarzai

Captain Shreyas Iyer will carry massive responsibility in this must-win encounter. The stylish right-hander has scored 397 runs at a strike rate of 162.70, including five fifty-plus scores this season.

Shashank Singh’s finishing abilities remain important for PBKS, while youngster Suryansh Shedge has impressed with his fearless batting in limited opportunities.

Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai provides excellent balance to the side with contributions in both departments.

Lower-order/Bowlers: Harpreet Brar, Xavier Bartlett, Lockie Ferguson, Arshdeep Singh

Left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar could play a vital role on the slow Lucknow surface. The spinner delivered a strong performance in the previous game against RCB and will look to exploit any assistance from the pitch.

Xavier Bartlett has mainly operated in the death overs and has claimed five wickets in nine matches so far. Lockie Ferguson’s experience and pace make him an important asset in pressure situations.

Arshdeep Singh remains Punjab’s premier bowler and will once again lead the attack with the new ball.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) Predicted XI:

Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Cooper Connolly, Shreyas Iyer (capt), Shashank Singh, Suryansh Shedge, Azmatullah Omarzai, Harpreet Brar, Xavier Bartlett, Lockie Ferguson, Arshdeep Singh,

Impact Player: Yuzvendra Chahal

Why Will Surrey’s Winning Streak End in Middlesex vs Surrey, Vitality Blast 2026 Match 11?

Surrey have won six straight T20s against Middlesex at Lord’s. They won’t be doing it this time with eight first-choice players unavailable, including Will Jacks, Chris Jordan, Gus Atkinson, Ben Foakes, and Jamie Overton. Middlesex, with Tom Helm in form, a new overseas batter in Matt Boyle, and conditions that suit their attack, have their strongest case in years to end a streak that has defined this London derby since 2021.

How Will MI’s Attack Stop RR’s Playoff Charge in MI vs RR, IPL 2026 Match 69?

Jasprit Bumrah is the answer, but only the Bumrah of previous seasons. Mumbai Indians stop Rajasthan Royals when he finds his yorker length in the powerplay and breaks a partnership that’s been worth 71 runs off the bat before the sixth over ends. RR needs one win from their final league match to secure a playoff berth. MI’s bowling attack, misfiring all season, now has to do something it hasn’t managed in 13 attempts: be genuinely threatening.

Why DC’s Playoff Dream Is Over Even If They Beat KKR in KKR vs DC, IPL 2026 Match 70?

Delhi Capitals are mathematically alive and practically finished. A win at Eden Gardens on May 24 takes them to 14 points, but their NRR of −0.871 is so far below every rival that no realistic combination of results closes the gap. They don’t just need to win. They need to win by a margin that T20 cricket almost never produces, while two other results go against the odds on the same day. The numbers aren’t close.

Top 3 performances of Erapalli Prasanna in international cricket

Erapalli Prasanna’s greatness cannot be measured merely through numbers. Off-spin, in his hands, became an exercise in patience, manipulation and nerve. He was not the kind of bowler who overwhelmed batters physically. Instead, he dismantled them mentally, tempting them into mistakes they scarcely realised they were making. In an era crowded with outstanding spin bowlers, Prasanna stood apart for the purity of his craft.

What Could the PBKS Predicted Playing XI Look Like for LSG vs PBKS IPL 2026 Match 68?

Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya open. Shreyas Iyer anchors the middle. Arshdeep Singh takes the new ball. That’s PBKS’s skeleton in 2026, and Match 68 at Ekana gives them no reason to break it. The one real decision is the impact sub. Marcus Stoinis comes in as the batting cover when PBKS bowl first. At Ekana, LSG’s home, that outcome is the most likely scenario, and Stoinis is your extra batter.

Why Arshdeep Singh vs Mitchell Marsh Is the Duel That Defines LSG vs PBKS IPL 2026 Match 68?

Arshdeep Singh has dismissed Mitchell Marsh twice in IPL, both times for zero. Marsh has since scored 563 runs this season and posted 111 off 56 at the very ground where Arshdeep sent him packing in the first over last year. One man is the competition’s leading run-scorer. The other is the bowler who has found his edge twice already. Match 68 at Ekana opens with this contest, and whoever wins it shapes everything that follows.
