Dublin Guardians will take on Rotterdam Dockers in Match 10 of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) 2026 at Sportpark Westvliet in Voorburg on September 2. The clash promises to be one of the marquee fixtures of the opening week, with both teams boasting several international stars and experienced T20 campaigners. The official ETPL schedule lists the game as the 10th match of the inaugural edition of the tournament.
The Guardians entered ETPL 2026 with one of the strongest squads on paper. Led by former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Dublin feature the likes of James Vince, Harry Tector, Muhammad Waseem, Daryl Mitchell, Josh Little and George Dockrell, giving them an excellent balance across all departments. The squad combines Irish internationals with proven performers from franchise leagues around the world.
Dublin, however, will be eager to bounce back after suffering a 33-run defeat against Glasgow Cosmic in their previous outing. Chasing 184, the Guardians were restricted to 150 despite possessing a powerful batting lineup. That defeat exposed a few weaknesses in both the batting and bowling departments, making Match 10 an important opportunity to return to winning ways.
Here is the predicted playing XI of Dublin Guardians for Match 10 of ETPL 2026 against Rotterdam Dockers:
Muhammad Waseem is expected to open the innings for Dublin.
The UAE captain has built a reputation as one of the most aggressive opening batters in associate cricket and brings tremendous Powerplay firepower to the Guardians. His fearless approach makes him the ideal player to attack Rotterdam’s pace-heavy bowling attack.
Waseem will be particularly important against Anrich Nortje, who is likely to take the new ball for Rotterdam.
James Vince should partner Waseem at the top.
The experienced England batter provides stability alongside Waseem’s aggression. Vince has years of experience in franchise cricket across the world and is capable of anchoring an innings before accelerating during the middle overs.
Against Rotterdam’s experienced attack, Vince’s ability to rotate the strike and punish loose deliveries could be crucial.
Harry Tector is likely to occupy the No. 3 position.
The Ireland batter remains one of the country’s finest white-ball players and is expected to play a key role for Dublin throughout the tournament. Tector’s strength lies in his ability to build partnerships while maintaining a healthy scoring rate.
He also plays spin well, which will be important against Roelof van der Merwe and Ben Manenti.
Daryl Mitchell should continue in the middle order.
The New Zealand all-rounder gives Dublin invaluable experience and flexibility. Mitchell is capable of rebuilding an innings if wickets fall early, while his power-hitting makes him equally dangerous during the final overs.
His medium pace also provides Ashwin with another bowling option whenever required.
George Dockrell is expected to bat at No. 5.
The experienced Irish all-rounder adds balance to Dublin’s lineup with his left-handed batting and slow left-arm spin. Dockrell has been a dependable performer for Ireland in T20 cricket and brings valuable local knowledge to the ETPL.
His role will be particularly important if Rotterdam introduce multiple spinners during the middle overs.
Captain Ravichandran Ashwin should come in at No. 6.
Ashwin’s leadership is one of Dublin’s biggest strengths. The veteran off-spinner captains the franchise and also serves as one of its marquee players in the inaugural ETPL season.
Ashwin remains a genuine wicket-taking spinner in T20 cricket and can also contribute valuable runs lower down the order. His tactical battle against Rotterdam’s powerful middle order could shape the outcome of the contest.
Mark Adair should continue as Dublin’s seam-bowling all-rounder.
The Ireland international offers valuable lower-order hitting and brings pace with the ball. Adair is capable of bowling during the Powerplay as well as the death overs, making him one of Ashwin’s most trusted options.
His all-round abilities make him a vital part of Dublin’s combination.
Josh Little is expected to spearhead Dublin’s pace attack.
The left-arm fast bowler has become one of Ireland’s premier T20 bowlers and has extensive franchise experience around the world. Little’s pace and ability to swing the new ball make him a dangerous proposition against Rotterdam’s opening pair.
He will likely be tasked with removing Faf du Plessis early.
Peter Hatzoglou could feature as Dublin’s specialist leg-spinner.
The Australian spinner adds variety to the bowling attack with his attacking leg-spin. His googlies and variations in pace make him an excellent wicket-taking option during the middle overs.
Against Heinrich Klaasen and Ben McDermott, Hatzoglou’s role could become extremely important.
Craig Young should retain his place as the second frontline seamer.
The experienced Irish pacer offers discipline and can bowl hard lengths throughout the innings. Young complements Josh Little nicely by attacking different areas of the pitch.
His ability to bowl accurately at the death gives Dublin another dependable pace option.
Chris Greaves is likely to complete the XI.
The Scotland all-rounder adds another spin option while also providing aggressive lower-order batting. Greaves’ versatility gives Ashwin additional tactical flexibility depending on the match situation.
His ability to contribute in both departments strengthens Dublin’s overall balance.
Muhammad Waseem, James Vince, Harry Tector, Daryl Mitchell, George Dockrell, Ravichandran Ashwin (C), Mark Adair, Josh Little, Peter Hatzoglou, Craig Young, Chris Greaves
