Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will take on Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown. If Hope survives Joseph’s opening spell, Guyana could build a strong platform. Conversely, an early wicket for Joseph would give Antigua an opportunity to put pressure on the Warriors’ middle order.
Another fascinating middle-overs battle will be between Shimron Hetmyer and Shadab Khan.

With Shadab likely to operate during the middle overs, Hetmyer could be presented with a tactical challenge. Shadab can vary his pace and trajectory with his leg-spin, while Hetmyer’s natural game is built around attacking scoring options.
The outcome of this contest could influence the second half of Guyana’s innings. If Hetmyer manages to attack Shadab successfully, the Warriors could accelerate considerably. If Shadab removes the left-hander, Antigua could gain control of a crucial phase of the innings.
The battle between Hasan Nawaz and Imran Tahir offers an intriguing clash between youthful aggression and veteran leg-spin.
Hasan Nawaz has been one of Antigua’s useful batting contributors during the 2026 campaign. He finished the league stage with 173 runs and showed his ability to provide momentum in the middle overs. In the Falcons’ 65-run victory over Guyana, Nawaz scored 36 off 27 balls before Shadab’s late assault took the innings to 182/5.
Standing in his way will be Guyana captain and experienced leg-spinner Imran Tahir. Tahir has been one of the Warriors’ major wicket-taking options and finished the league stage with 14 wickets. His variations, attacking approach and ability to break partnerships make him particularly dangerous against aggressive middle-order batters.
