Barbados Tridents will lock horns with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 32 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, on Thursday, September 10. With home conditions likely to influence selection, Barbados could opt for a balanced combination featuring a strong top order, multiple all-rounders and a varied bowling attack.
Brandon King is expected to open the innings for Barbados. The Jamaican batter has established himself as a dangerous T20 opener and can put pressure on the opposition bowling attack during the Powerplay. His ability to score quickly while also batting deep makes him an important part of the Tridents’ top order.
Against the Patriots’ new-ball attack, King will be expected to provide Barbados with the explosive start they need.
Zachary Carter could partner King at the top of the order. The left-handed batter gives Barbados a different angle in the opening combination and can complement King’s aggressive approach.
Carter’s ability to rotate the strike and find boundaries will be important, particularly if the Patriots introduce spin early in the innings.
