Dublin Guardians will be desperate to open their account in the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) 2026 when they face Amsterdam Flames in Match 15 at Sportpark Duivesteijn, Voorburg, on September 5. The contest is scheduled to begin at 3:15 PM local time (6:45 PM IST), with the Guardians entering the fixture after four consecutive defeats.
Dublin’s campaign has been far from ideal despite having several established international names in their squad. Their latest defeat came against Rotterdam Dockers, who chased down 179 with eight balls to spare. However, there were encouraging signs with the bat as James Vince produced an outstanding unbeaten 95 off 54 balls, while Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Vijay Shankar also chipped in with useful cameos.
The Guardians have largely retained the same combination throughout the tournament, and with little time between matches, wholesale changes are unlikely. Here is the predicted Dublin Guardians playing XI for Match 15 against Amsterdam Flames.
James Vince should continue opening the innings after his sensational performance against Rotterdam.
The experienced English batter smashed an unbeaten 95 off just 54 deliveries, striking five fours and six sixes. He carried his bat through the innings and was the biggest reason Dublin managed to post a competitive 178/4.
Vince’s ability to dominate both pace and spin makes him the most dependable batter in the Guardians’ lineup. He will once again be expected to provide the platform at the top.
Noah Croes is likely to partner Vince. The Netherlands wicketkeeper-batter has been used at the top of the order and also provides an additional option behind the stumps. However, after scoring only eight against Rotterdam, he will be under pressure to deliver a substantial contribution.
Harry Tector should retain the No. 3 position.
The Ireland international is one of the most experienced members of the Dublin batting unit and possesses the game to rotate the strike before accelerating through the middle overs.
Tector made 14 off 15 balls against Rotterdam and will be keen to convert his starts into a significant innings. Against an Amsterdam bowling attack featuring David Payne and Kyle Klein, his ability to play percentage cricket could be crucial.
Daryl Mitchell is expected to slot in at No. 4.
The New Zealand all-rounder provides balance to the side and can contribute with both bat and ball. Mitchell has not yet produced the kind of impact expected from him, but his experience in T20 cricket makes him difficult to leave out.
He scored eight off six deliveries in the previous match before being dismissed by Roelof van der Merwe.
Dublin will hope Mitchell can provide greater impetus in the middle overs against Amsterdam’s varied bowling attack.
Sanjay Krishnamurthi should continue at No. 5 following another encouraging performance.
The USA all-rounder smashed 26 off 17 balls against Rotterdam, including a couple of sixes, and helped Vince rebuild the innings after Dublin had lost three wickets.
His ability to attack spin and generate momentum makes him an important component of Dublin’s middle order.
Vijay Shankar is likely to retain his place after producing an explosive finish in the previous game.
The Indian all-rounder remained unbeaten on 26 off just 13 balls, striking at 200 and hitting two sixes. His cameo helped Dublin reach 178/4 after they had been 133/4 in the 17th over.
Shankar could once again be given the licence to attack during the final overs.
George Dockrell should occupy the No. 7 slot.
The Ireland veteran provides valuable left-arm spin and can contribute useful runs down the order. His presence also gives captain Ravichandran Ashwin another tactical option against Amsterdam’s strong collection of right-handed batters.
Dockrell’s experience of playing in Dutch conditions could prove useful as Dublin attempt to finally break their losing streak.
Captain Ravichandran Ashwin will continue to lead the side.
The veteran off-spinner has been one of Dublin’s more economical bowlers. He conceded just 21 runs from his four overs and dismissed Faf du Plessis in the latest match.
Ashwin’s biggest challenge will be managing a bowling attack that conceded 179/3 despite restricting Rotterdam to three wickets. He could play an important role against Amsterdam’s aggressive middle order, particularly Tim David and Michael Bracewell.
Harmeet Singh is likely to retain his place as another spin-bowling option. His ability to bowl economical spells in the middle overs could be particularly valuable at a venue where stroke-making has not always been straightforward.
Matthew Hollard should continue as a pace option after featuring in the latest XI. He bowled three overs against Rotterdam and will be looking for greater control in the Powerplay and death overs.
Joshua Little completes the predicted XI.
The Ireland left-arm pacer remains one of Dublin’s biggest weapons with the new ball. Little picked up two wickets against Rotterdam, although he conceded 42 runs from his four overs.
His battle against Amsterdam’s top-order batters could be one of the key contests of Match 15.
James Vince, Noah Croes (WK), Harry Tector, Daryl Mitchell, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Vijay Shankar, George Dockrell, Ravichandran Ashwin (C), Harmeet Singh, Matthew Hollard, Joshua Little
