Karthik Meiyappan could complete the XI as Madurai’s specialist spinner. The leg-spinner provides a different challenge to Tiruppur’s batters and could be particularly important at Chepauk, where bowlers who vary their pace and trajectory can be effective.
His inclusion would also give captain Anirudh an attacking option during the middle overs.
