Put in to field first, West Indies were immediately in the action, with Holder front-and-centre as he had the in-form Saim Ayub caught behind in the second over. The wicket took him level with Bravo at 78 T20I scalps. He broke the record in his next over itself, having Sahibzada Farhan caught trying to slice a shorter ball, with Sherfane Rutherford holding onto a safe catch at sweeper on the off-side. He returned for a spell in the 16th over, where he removed the dangerous Hasan Nawaz by completing a splendid return catch. Nawaz was looking to go big, having scored a quickfire 40 off 22 balls before Holder put a stop to his fireworks. He then removed Mohammad Nawaz, who was caught at long on, finishing with figures of 4 for 16 as Pakistan wrapped up their innings at 133 for 9.
With the bat, the Windies were unable to settle into rhythm as the Pakistan bowlers kept taking regular wickets. Holder walked in with the score at 96 for 6, with 38 runs still needed. Fireworks from Romario Shepherd took the Windies within touching distance with eight runs needed off the final over. Shepherd was dismissed off the second ball by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who brought the equation down to three runs to win off the final ball. Afridi erred, bowling a wide before a full-length ball was dispatched to the fine-leg boundary by Holder.
Front and centre throughout the game, Holder sealed the victory for his side in poetic fashion after his record-breaking exploits with the ball in the match. Holder still stands atop the mountain, having taken his tally to 112 wickets.
