Coming into the second game with a seven-wicket win in the first match, the Bangla Tigers were put into bat on the slow wicket at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. They found themselves reeling at 28 for 4 in the powerplay, with fascinating bowling from Faheem Ashraf, Ahmed Daniyal and Salman Mirza. He stitched partnerships with Daniyal and Afridi to bring the target down to 28 runs from 12 balls. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was taken for two fours and a six, with the maximum bringing up Ashraf’s maiden fifty in T20 internationals.
With 13 runs needed off seven balls, Hossain had Ashraf bowled off a quicker one, leaving Bangladesh with just one more wicket separating them from history. Mustafizur Rahman just needed two balls to complete the defence, having Daniyal caught at mid-wicket to seal a nervy eight-run victory. Jaker Ali’s rescue act in the middle order saw him earn the Player of the Match award as the Tigers sealed a historic series victory with their win.
