Match 28 | European T20 Premier League 2026 | The Village, Malahide, Ireland | September 2026

Michael Bracewell gives Amsterdam the sharpest overseas bowling option on the field, and it isn’t especially close. He has taken more wickets than anyone else in this fixture at a far better average, while Glasgow’s best import, Lungi Ngidi, has managed only six scalps all season. Malahide’s surface has rewarded pace over spin all tournament, which suits both attacks’ quicks more than their frontline spin options. Amsterdam still have something to play for here; Glasgow, already out of the playoff picture, do not.

Ngidi Still Carries a Fading Pace Unit

Lungi Ngidi remains Glasgow’s leading wicket-taker despite a quiet season, with six scalps through matches played to September 12. His best figures, 4 for 21 against Dublin Guardians, remain the high point of an underwhelming campaign.

Keshav Maharaj and Paul van Meekeren round out the overseas options without ever taking control of a match. Maharaj is better known this season for a rearguard 29 not out with the bat than anything with the ball.

Liam Livingstone offers part-time leg-spin as a fifth option, but his one notable outing against Amsterdam produced just 1 for 27. None of Glasgow’s imports have found real consistency this season.

Glasgow Cosmic vs Amsterdam Flames ETPL 2026 Overseas Bowlers

The overseas bowling numbers below make the gap between these two attacks obvious.

Bracewell’s economy and strike rate both sit clear of every other overseas bowler in this match, Glasgow’s included. Ngidi is the closest thing Glasgow has to a genuine threat, but his output trails Amsterdam’s full-strength unit.

Richard Gleeson and David Payne give Amsterdam a new-ball pairing Glasgow can’t match man for man, and that gap widens once Tim Pringle’s middle-overs control is added in.

Bracewell Leads the Tournament’s In-Form Attack

Michael Bracewell has been one of the standout bowlers in this year’s tournament regardless of nationality, with 13 wickets from just six innings at an average under 10. That return puts him third on the overall wicket charts behind only Rotterdam’s frontline pace pair.

His control has been the platform for Amsterdam’s push toward the top four, and with the Flames needing wins to stay in touch with the Qualifier places, another economical outing would matter more than raw wickets.

Tim Pringle has quietly built a useful supporting season alongside him, taking wickets against both Glasgow and Dublin in recent weeks. Between the two, Amsterdam have more proven middle-overs control than anyone else chasing a playoff spot.

Malahide’s Pitch Favors Pace Over Spin

The Village has produced 94 wickets for fast bowlers against just 36 for spin across this ETPL season, a split that should favor both attacks’ seamers over their frontline tweakers. First-innings totals here have ranged from 107 to 225, with 175 to 185 the more typical competitive score.

Teams batting second have won three-quarters of completed matches here, pressuring whichever attack bowls first to leave a defendable target. That dynamic favors depth and control over one big spell, a test Amsterdam’s attack has passed more often this season.

Glasgow’s quicks have shown flashes elsewhere, but nothing in their recent form suggests they can out-bowl an Amsterdam attack built for these conditions.

A Dead Rubber With Something to Prove

Glasgow’s playoff hopes ended before this match was even played, with nine matches gone and just four points and a net run rate of minus 1.158 to show for their campaign. Nothing that happens at Malahide changes that outcome.

Amsterdam, sitting fourth on nine points, still need the win to stay within range of the Qualifier places currently held by Rotterdam and Belfast on 11 apiece. That gives their bowlers, and Bracewell especially, a reason to perform that Glasgow’s attack no longer has. On personnel alone, the Glasgow Cosmic vs Amsterdam Flames ETPL 2026 overseas bowlers battle points one way, and pride is the only thing riding on it for the team on the wrong end of that mismatch.
