South Africa will be aiming to make it three consecutive victories when they take on Namibia in Match 6 of the T20I Tri-Series 2026 at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek on September 4. The Proteas have recovered impressively from their 18-run defeat against the hosts in the tournament opener, registering back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe.

The latest victory was particularly comprehensive, with South Africa beating Zimbabwe by 43 runs. Lhuan-dre Pretorius smashed a career-best 94 off 51 balls, while Bjorn Fortuin and Duan Jansen combined for seven wickets to dismantle Zimbabwe’s chase.

South Africa’s young squad has therefore found considerable momentum heading into the reverse fixture against Namibia. With the majority of the XI clicking, the Proteas could retain the same combination for Match 6.

Here is South Africa’s Predicted Playing XI for Match 6 against Namibia:

1. Jordan Hermann

Jordan Hermann is likely to continue at the top of the order. The left-hander provides a solid option alongside Pretorius and has the ability to exploit the fielding restrictions during the Powerplay.

Hermann’s role will be especially important against Namibia’s new-ball attack, which includes the experienced Ruben Trumpelmann.

2. Lhuan-dre Pretorius

Lhuan-dre Pretorius is an automatic selection after his outstanding performance against Zimbabwe. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 94 off just 51 deliveries, striking 12 fours and three sixes to help South Africa post 185/7.

His innings demonstrated his ability to combine aggression with calculated strokeplay. After missing out on a century by just six runs, Pretorius will be eager to carry that momentum into the clash against Namibia.

3. Dewald Brevis

Dewald Brevis has been one of South Africa’s most dangerous batters in the tournament. He scored a magnificent 75 in the opening defeat to Namibia and followed it with another aggressive contribution against Zimbabwe.

His ability to change the complexion of an innings within a few overs makes him a key player at No. 3.

4. Connor Esterhuizen (WK)

Connor Esterhuizen is expected to retain the wicketkeeping duties. The youngster gives South Africa another attacking batting option and has already been trusted in the middle order during the series.

His ability to rotate the strike and accelerate against spin could become important during the middle overs.

5. Rubin Hermann

Rubin Hermann should continue in the middle order. He provides left-handed variety and can play the role of a stabiliser if South Africa lose early wickets.

With Brevis and Pretorius capable of attacking from the outset, Hermann’s ability to construct an innings around them could be valuable.

6. Eathan Bosch

Eathan Bosch is likely to retain his place as the seam-bowling all-rounder. His presence gives captain Bjorn Fortuin an additional pace option while also providing depth to the batting lineup.

Bosch’s ability to contribute in both departments makes him an important component of South Africa’s balanced XI.

7. Duan Jansen

Duan Jansen has quickly become one of the standout performers in the tournament. The left-arm seamer took three wickets in four balls across two overs against Zimbabwe, finishing with excellent figures of 3/21.

His ability to generate bounce and angle the ball across right-handers makes him a major threat against Namibia’s top order.

8. Bjorn Fortuin (C)

Bjorn Fortuin will continue to lead the side. The left-arm spinner has impressed with his tactical awareness and bowling performances throughout the tournament.

Against Zimbabwe, Fortuin produced a match-winning spell of 4/24 from 3.4 overs, including a double-wicket maiden during the Powerplay.

His control through the middle overs will again be crucial against Namibia’s experienced batting lineup.

9. Prenelan Subrayen

Prenelan Subrayen should retain his place as another specialist spin option. He has already been one of South Africa’s leading wicket-takers in the tri-series, making his accuracy an important weapon on the Windhoek surface.

His ability to bowl economically while creating pressure could allow Fortuin to attack from the other end.

10. Nqabayomzi Peter

Nqabayomzi Peter could continue as part of South Africa’s bowling unit after replacing Tony de Zorzi in the previous game. His inclusion gives the Proteas another specialist bowling option and allows Fortuin to rotate his attack.

Peter’s role will be particularly important if Namibia’s batters look to attack the spinners during the middle overs.

11. Kwena Maphaka

Kwena Maphaka is expected to complete the attack. The young fast bowler offers genuine pace and can provide South Africa with a wicket-taking threat at both ends of the innings.

His battle against Namibia’s aggressive openers could have a significant bearing on the Powerplay.
