Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will take on defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders in Match 14 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The contest is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, at 7 PM local time, with the venue set to host another important fixture involving the home side.
Both teams have had contrasting results early in the tournament. The Falcons began their campaign with a two-wicket win over Jamaica Kingsmen before suffering a narrow defeat against Saint Lucia Kings. TKR, meanwhile, started with a DLS victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots but subsequently went down to Jamaica Kingsmen.
With both sides looking to strengthen their campaigns, their bowling attacks could play a decisive role. Here are the top three bowlers to watch out for in Match 14 of CPL 2026.
Alzarri Joseph will be one of the most important players in the Falcons’ bowling attack. The Antigua-born fast bowler returned to his home franchise for the 2026 season after spending five seasons with Saint Lucia Kings. The Falcons retained several important local players, including Jayden Seales and Fabian Allen, while adding Joseph to their bowling unit.
Joseph brings genuine pace, bounce and the ability to attack batters with the new ball. His familiarity with conditions at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium could also work in his favour.
The fast bowler made an impact in the Falcons’ opening match against Jamaica Kingsmen, where he picked up three wickets. Cricket World also identified him as one of the key players to watch for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons before the tournament.
Joseph will have an especially important role against TKR’s experienced batting lineup. The likes of Alex Hales, Colin Munro, Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard can score rapidly once they settle, making early wickets vital for the Falcons.
His contest with Hales and Munro during the powerplay could set the tone for the game. If Joseph can generate movement while maintaining his pace, TKR’s explosive opening pair could find themselves under pressure.
Why watch him: Joseph combines home conditions with genuine wicket-taking ability and could be the Falcons’ biggest threat with the new ball.
Sunil Narine remains one of the most dependable T20 bowlers in the world and will once again be central to TKR’s plans.
The veteran spinner was retained by Trinbago Knight Riders through their Right to Match option alongside Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Akeal Hosein and Terrance Hinds. That experienced core is expected to play a major role in the defending champions’ title defence.
Narine has already shown his effectiveness in CPL 2026. He produced outstanding figures of 3/7 from four overs against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, including a wicket maiden, and currently features among the leading bowling figures in the competition.
His ability to bowl during the powerplay gives captain Nicholas Pooran an important tactical weapon. Narine does not rely on extravagant turn to trouble batters; his variations in pace, accuracy and deceptive trajectory make him extremely difficult to attack.
The Falcons’ aggressive top order could therefore face a major test when Narine enters the attack. Rahkeem Cornwall, Evin Lewis and Tim Robinson will have to find a way to rotate the strike without allowing Narine to dictate the tempo.
Narine could also be particularly useful against the Falcons’ right-handers in the middle order, where his ability to bowl economically can create pressure for the other end.
Why watch him: Narine’s combination of accuracy, variations and powerplay experience makes him one of TKR’s biggest wicket-taking and run-saving weapons.
The third bowler to watch is Jayden Seales, another key member of the Falcons’ pace attack.
Seales was retained by Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for the 2026 season through their Right to Match option. The young West Indies fast bowler was also the Falcons’ leading wicket-taker in the previous CPL edition, finishing the 2025 campaign with 10 wickets.
Seales’ greatest strength is his ability to maintain a disciplined line and length while generating enough pace to trouble batters. He can operate with the new ball and remain useful during the closing stages, giving captain Moeen Ali considerable flexibility.
The right-armer will have his work cut out against TKR’s deep batting lineup. If Joseph manages to create early pressure from one end, Seales can attack from the other and look for breakthroughs.
His role becomes even more important if TKR’s top order survives the powerplay. Pooran and Pollard are capable of scoring heavily at the back end, meaning Seales’ execution during the death overs could prove crucial.
The Falcons’ previous match against Saint Lucia Kings also highlighted the need for their bowling unit to improve after the team conceded 187/8.
Why watch him: Seales’ control and wicket-taking ability make him an ideal bowler to watch during both the powerplay and death overs.
