The Jamaica Kingsmen will square off against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 18 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at Warner Park in Basseterre on Thursday, August 27. The contest will see the two sides meet for the second time in the tournament, with Jamaica having already registered a convincing 51-run victory over the Patriots at Sabina Park.

While Jamaica will be confident after getting the better of the Patriots earlier in the competition, the hosts will be eager to produce a much-improved performance on their home ground. The previous encounter was particularly notable for Keemo Paul’s all-round brilliance, but the bowlers on both sides also played an important role. Jamaica’s attack successfully defended 181/6, while St Kitts and Nevis struggled to build partnerships during their chase.

With another important clash coming up, here are the top three bowlers to watch out for in Match 18 of CPL 2026 between Jamaica Kingsmen and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

1. Keemo Paul – Jamaica Kingsmen

Keemo Paul is the obvious first name on the list after producing a sensational performance in the previous meeting between the two teams.

Paul was outstanding with both bat and ball at Sabina Park. After smashing 65 off just 36 deliveries, he returned to take three wickets for 30 runs from his four overs. His efforts earned him the Player of the Match award as Jamaica secured a 51-run victory.

His bowling could once again be crucial against a Patriots batting line-up that struggled in the previous contest. Paul dismissed Kyle Mayers, Wanindu Hasaranga and Obed McCoy, helping Jamaica bowl the opposition out for only 130 in 18 overs.

What makes Paul particularly valuable is his versatility. Captain Rovman Powell can use him during the middle overs or hold him back for a death-overs spell depending on the match situation. His ability to mix pace and variations also makes him difficult to attack consistently.

The Patriots will be aware that allowing Paul to settle into a rhythm could prove costly. After his three-wicket haul in the first meeting, he will be one of the first bowlers they will want to neutralise.

2. Wanindu Hasaranga – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

Wanindu Hasaranga will be one of the Patriots’ most important bowling weapons at Warner Park.

The Sri Lankan leg-spinner is among the premier spin bowlers in T20 cricket and was brought into the Patriots squad as part of a strong overseas contingent that also includes Naseem Shah and Waqar Salamkheil. The franchise has specifically built considerable bowling depth around pace and world-class spin.

Hasaranga already made an impact against Jamaica in the previous meeting, taking two wickets for 36 runs. He dismissed Reeza Hendricks and Usman Khan, who were both attempting to build Jamaica’s innings.

Although his economy rate was higher than he would have wanted, Hasaranga remains a major wicket-taking threat. His googly and variations in flight can trouble batters who attempt to attack him, particularly during the middle overs.

The return fixture gives Hasaranga an opportunity to improve on his previous performance. Jamaica’s middle order contains dangerous players such as Powell, Andre Russell and Paul, all of whom can change a game quickly. Removing even one of them could significantly alter the contest.

3. Hunain Shah – Jamaica Kingsmen

Hunain Shah is another bowler who could play an important role for the Kingsmen.

The Pakistan fast bowler was impressive during Jamaica’s previous victory over the Patriots. He bowled three overs, conceded only 16 runs and claimed the wicket of Johnson Charles. His economy rate of 5.33 was among the best figures in Jamaica’s bowling attack.

At just 22, Hunain provides Jamaica with an exciting pace option. His ability to attack with the new ball and bowl hard lengths gives Powell another useful weapon alongside experienced campaigners such as Andre Russell and Keemo Paul.

The Patriots’ top order will be particularly important to this battle. Andre Fletcher, Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers are capable of scoring rapidly, but they were unable to establish a strong foundation in the previous game. Hunain’s disciplined approach could once again make it difficult for them to score freely.

He will also benefit from having experienced bowlers operating around him. If Russell or Paul manages to create pressure at one end, Hunain can attack from the other and look for wickets.

Another economical spell from the young pacer would strengthen Jamaica’s chances of restricting the Patriots to a manageable total.
