Hand-picked stories you can't miss
The Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026 has produced some impressive bowling performances, with pacers and spinners making important contributions for Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England. As Pakistan prepare to face Sri Lanka in the final on October 31 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the tournament’s bowling leaderboard highlights three standout performers.
Pakistan have dominated the top two positions, with Arafat Minhas and Shaheen Shah Afridi leading the wicket-taking charts. Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madushanka occupies third place after delivering a match-winning performance against Pakistan during the league stage.
Here are 3 highest wicket-takers of the series before the final:
Arafat Minhas has been the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, claiming nine wickets in four matches. The left-arm spinner has delivered an impressive performance, maintaining an average of 14.11 and an economy rate of 6.80.
His best bowling figures of 6/40 have been the standout individual bowling performance of the competition. Minhas has demonstrated his ability to trouble batters with variations in pace and trajectory, making him an important part of Pakistan’s bowling combination.
The young spinner has also shown that he can deliver breakthroughs during crucial phases of an innings. His ability to pick up wickets while maintaining pressure has helped Pakistan restrict opposition batting lineups.
With one five-wicket haul already to his name, Minhas will be an important player for Pakistan in the final. His role could become particularly significant against Sri Lanka’s middle order, which features aggressive batters such as Kamindu Mendis and Pavan Rathnayake.
Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi occupies second place with eight wickets in four matches. The left-arm fast bowler has maintained an average of 19.00 and an economy rate of 7.24, while his best figures stand at 4/46.
Shaheen has been particularly effective with the new ball, using his pace and swing to trouble opposition openers. His performance against England was one of the highlights of his campaign, as he claimed four wickets for 46 runs to help Pakistan bowl out the visitors for 241.
He dismissed Tom Banton in the opening over and then removed Joe Root, putting England under immediate pressure. Shaheen also picked up important wickets during the middle stages, preventing England from building a substantial total.
As Pakistan captain, Shaheen will have the additional responsibility of leading the bowling attack in the final. His opening spell against Sri Lanka could prove crucial, particularly against their top-order batters.
Dilshan Madushanka is the highest wicket-taker for Sri Lanka in the competition, having claimed seven wickets in three matches. He has maintained an average of 27.14 and an economy rate of 6.67, with his best figures of 5/34 coming against Pakistan.
The left-arm pacer produced a sensational performance in Sri Lanka’s eight-wicket victory over Pakistan on October 27. He dismantled the opposition batting lineup with a five-wicket haul, restricting the hosts to just 110 runs.
Madushanka’s ability to swing the new ball and generate movement away from right-handed batters made him particularly difficult to handle. His performance was instrumental in giving Sri Lanka a comfortable victory and securing their place in the final.
The pacer will once again be expected to lead Sri Lanka’s bowling attack in the summit clash. His contest against Pakistan’s experienced batting lineup, particularly Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman, could have a major influence on the outcome.
